These have changed our entire outdoor experience. We have had curtains for years, but they are not enough. The wind constantly blows them open and they don't completely block the sun. The solar shades don't completely block the sun or the view, so for a cooler day they are all I need. For a hot Tennessee summer day, I use both shades and my old curtains, turn the ceiling fan on, and me and the wife are happy as can be. Still trying to find the best way to tie them down, but as for stakes in the ground, I got 3 (big porch so I have 2 shades next to each other) of those screw-type stakes that people use to tie dogs out in the yard. They work great. Just trying to find the best bungie straps to use. In any event, I have been able to keep them secure in a medium breeze. Oh, and installation wasn't too bad. Just take your time, use the template, and a laser level really helps.
